Dylan Rooney

Cybersecurity Professional | Python Developer | Relentless Troubleshooter

Hi, I'm Dylan Rooney. I made this website to introduce myself and provide an alternative to the traditional resume format. I have had a life-long interest in technology, and in late 2019, decided to start working towards a career in IT.

Since then, I've earned a Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance, nine certifications, penetration tested hundreds of virtual machines, and have worked on many projects for commercial, recreational, and practical purposes. I also worked as a Technology Operations Analyst at a large financial institution for 2.5 years, handling tickets that involved software troubleshooting, security concerns, cloud technologies, Active Directory, and much, much more.

Please feel free to scroll down to take a look at just a handful of some of my favorite projects, as well as IT certs and relevant education. If you have any inquiries, use the contact form below, and I'll be sure to get back to you as soon as possible. I'm currently looking for a full-time job at a company where I can work with a great team and continue to advance my career.

Favorite Projects

πŸ”₯ Polymarket Trading Bot

High frequency, low latency automated trading bot for Polymarket’s 5-minute Bitcoin Up/Down markets. Places trades (YES or NO) when strong Binance vs Chainlink price momentum is detected. Loaded with features, including real-time price feeds, smart delta filtering, quick take-profit, trailing profit exit, dynamic stop-loss, and emergency final-second exit. Clean Rich dashboard, full trade logging, and bidirectional logic for both rising and falling BTC moves.

πŸ”‘ Windows Wi-Fi Password Gatherer

Security tool for extracting Wi-Fi passwords and SSIDs from Windows systems. Utilizes the built in netsh (Network Shell) tool to grab all passwords (no credentials needed) and can export as XML file. Has two companion scripts - one for scrubbing SSIDs/passwords, another for importing via XML, which can be useful for system administrator work.

⚑ Lightning Fast Linux/Windows Navigation Tool

A fast, intuitive terminal-based file navigator for Linux and Windows. Instead of typing long paths, it lists files and directories with numbers - simply enter the number to cd into a folder or open a file in its default program. Press b to go back (like cd ..), and use the built-in find command to quickly search for files or folders by name. I built this tool so that I could navigate through file systems at lightning speed without leaving the terminal. Regular commands still work as expected while the navigator is running.

πŸ€– Customizable AI Agent (powered by n8n)

A powerful personal AI assistant built with n8n and the Grok API. It automates daily workflows by composing and sending emails, reading and organizing your inbox, managing calendar events across Gmail and Outlook, and automatically syncing events between both platforms. Additional features include real-time stock price checks and weather reports. Accessible directly through n8n or via self-hosted Docker container using Cloudflare Tunnel.

πŸ”¬ Cymatics Research Center

Shell-based control program for a cymatics research machine. Provides an intuitive terminal menu to configure and run frequency sweeps while optionally recording video of the resulting patterns. Supports adjustable start/end frequencies, duration per tone, medium type (e.g. Water), project folders, and split-file recording. Includes real-time VLC preview launching, frequency scroll-wheel input, and uses pysine to generate clean sine waves. Built specifically for Linux with a focus on fast, keyboard-driven operation for experimental cymatics work. The video above is footage of an experiment recorded using this program.
